Having not practiced alot this week, I decided to put my name down for the weekly competition, to try and regain some form again under pressure. I turned up on the Saturday morning an hour before my 11am start abit aprehensive, about how im going to tackle the course. I hit some balls to warm up, and as I predicted the balls wernt travilling in the direction, I was intending. That made me very weary to tee it up in the competition, with my handicap on the line. However I forgot all about the negative thoughts and just tried to use my skill and experience to get the ball around the course. So i set out to just play very safe and easy, well within myself. Much to my amase I turned in level and the back half -2. Hitting 17 greens in regulation. It was the most consistant performance of my golfing career with my 2 bogeys coming from a 3 putt, and a very tough par 4. I was very pleased as its the first time I have ever gone back to back under par. 🙂

Saturday Morning. I teed it up early at 8.00am at Rockliffe Hall. For the weekly club competiton. Having recently hitting some form, I was quitley confident about playing this round of golf. As imagined I was hitting the ball in the right spots on the golf, course hitting 15 greens in regulation. Which I would class as a good course management round. I made 4 birdies on the round, and making a 2 on a par 3 which got me 15 pounds. Unfortunatly I had 3 bogeys on the round to add. However I feel it was a solid round on the course. Firing a -1 under par 71. Which was the lowest gross of the day. Me, with scorecard and putter

North of England boys

On the Wednesday of last week I was fortunate enough to play in the North of England boys amateur championship at Brass Castle golf club, in middelsbrough. It was a really good event with lots of really good players. Even though i didnt make the cut, I enjoyed the event, it was the most organised event I have ever played in, we had spotters for wayward tee shots and pristine greens, with rapid pace. I would like to thank Ian Jackson, for gettinghe me into the event as the last reserve, and congratulations to the winner. See you next year!

Last week on tuesday I entered a u-18 open in Houghton le-spring. It was a lovely day, with some good players entering the competition. My tee off was 1 o clock in the afternoon, I hit my first tee shot with my 5-wood straight down the middle setting me up for an easy par, a steady start. I was playing solid until i made my first double bogey, however bounced back straight with a birdie. I finished my round with a round of 73(+1) with 4 birdies 2 double bogeys and 1 bogey. I later found out that I won the event, winning a lyle and scott jacket, and a possible invitation to the junior golf championships in Abu Dhabi.

For those of us fortunate to witness the 18 holes played by Gary Player v Arnold Palmer last week, it was amazing. Just how good were those guys in their prime? My tender years did not allow me to witness them but they are extraordinary golfers. Gary Player was and is famous for his black attire but did you notice the shoes. Yes, the shoes. I have heard many wonderful stories about shoes, i.e. I met a golfer the other day that by a stroke of good fortune found himself on the tee with the ‘Golden Bear’ himself. Absolutely in awe of the situation the amateur golfer asked for his picture to be taken with Jack Nicklaus and Jack, ever the gentleman, asked politely of the amateur to kindly return to the club house and find a clean pair of shoes. What’s the moral? standards-  never ever let them slip below perfection. The round was played the pictures taken and the amateur had a story to last a lifetime. Anyway back to the shoes. Gary Player wears Nebuloni Shoes – in my opinion the finest golf shoes in the world. I wear Nebuloni Golf shoes and without exception other golfers comment on there quality and style. Remember you heard it from me Jackson Kneeshaw, Nebuloni Shoes are the best shoe on the golf course. Check them out @ www.Nebulonigolf.com

Today there was a matchplay order of merit, which I was paired up with post graduate Charlie Guest. Who plays off a handicap of 3 (i think). I was A/S after nine hole and about to play the 10th when the game got called off due to horendous weather. Which was a little unfortunate because we werent playing badly.

Today was a rather ordinary day with golf lessons in the morning and academics in the afternoon. Golf was promising with more swing thoughts and I was told that my swing is building up to be something really good. In the afternoon I went out to play golf because we had a free period, and i was spectating whilse Chris Olney and Jordan Holdway Battled it out over 9 holes, It was a good match with both golfers playing well however Chris Managed to pull through with a comfortable victory of 3 shots.
