Rockliffe Hall played host to this years Champion of Champions and wow did they get it right. Sponsored by the Journal Newspapers, they setting was perfect, I was announced to the tee at 8.20am one of 99 club champions. Feeling 100%, I new I could beat the course having played on Saturday and shot a par72 playing very average. Starting with three easy pars I then proceeded to leak shots from my trusty putter, driving was long and straight, long irons on the green but no way was that ball going in the hole. This culminated on the 17th, Rockliffe had cleverly moved the competition tee to a short par 4 at 345yds, get this I drove the green ran past the flag and settled against the fringe no more than 15 ft from the pin – there for one. Guess what, I three stabbed it! the first put lipped the hole, rolled off 18 inches away and yes I missed it, one of three puts I missed inside two feet, unbelievable! but true. No birdies in a round when I should have had five, puts missed on every hole when that is my best asset, yet I still loved every minuet, it was my last day before returning to college and I was going to enjoy it and I did. I presume the Journal paid for my Sunday roast which was beautifully presented and tasted first class – thank you The Journal Newspaper. Oh my score – did I forget to mention that, not great, but I was there and that’s what counts. Rockliffe Hall Golf is first class – If you play golf you simply must play Rockliffe Hall.
Jackson Kneeshaw Champion of Champions at Rockliffe Hall
Winning Weekend for Jackson Kneeshaw as Rockliffe Park Rocks
The beautiful Rockliffe Park Course tested the longest hitters with the Gold Cup. With 260 carries just to reach the fairway and 250 yard par 3’s the nearly 8,000 yards of luxury played tough in a strong easterly wind. The longest hole required three full blasts to reach the green, great golf, stunning setting and greens to envy, that’s Rockliffe Park. Two over after nine and I’m thinking this is in the bag. Two over did win the Gold Cup but sadly it was not me, I faded on the last three and probably the easiest holes to finish with a @x0$. Looking forward to Rockliffe hosting the Champion of Champions competition next Sunday sponsored by The Journal Newspaper. The strong field will be tough to beat but I am feeling like a champion and ready to post a low score.

Golf in the Sixties
This is the second week running I have posted a score in the sixties. OK it might not be a 62 like Rory but it was a 69 after last weeks 68 and I had a double boggy on the 18th. The signs are looking good for the start of the season. I can almost smell the leather on this stunning Boss Golf Bag. I have been promised this bag as a prize when I hit scratch. Today’s score will bring me down to 3. something. Not great but I have only been playing golf for a couple of years now since I left Middlesbrough FC’s football academy. Good news for my 15yr old brother Wilson, who has just signed for the Boro and starts his Pro career this July. But for now just spend a little time starring into the luxury of this Boss Golf Bag
Boss golf kit – I luv it
I have got my eye on a Boss carry bag – my local fashion store Van-Mildert in Darlington – simply the best stuff to wear – check it out on the internet you will want loads of the kit. Anyway they have Boss stuff for golf – the carry bag is just awesome I want it, i need it, i must have it – How? any suggestions.
The Heat is on
After a great competition last week finishing with a 68, today is Hot Hot Hot but not my golf. Hayfever season is back and i’m in meltdown with prickely heat.
I guess Boots will be getting my spare cash for the rest of the year. Wearing sunglasses helps but I can’t hit shots with them on. Perhaps someone knows if there is a technique to this as the big time players seem to achieve it.
Ping i15 the ultimate drive
Ping i15 driver – Granted it was wind assisted but I have just crashed a 375yd drive on a par 5 leaving a 9 iron in. It has taken over a month to adjust to the club, I changed grip, hip swing and follow through to find the flight of the ball – but as I got nearer to the the perfect ball flight I could sense the distance was there. Now that I have grooved the swing the consistency is superb, accuracy better than I expected and the overall feel is one of driver satisfaction. A good friend of mine and top international amateur found the Ping i15 out-drove his trusted driver – I could tell he was taken aback by the extra 10 to 15 yards he was getting, This guy is respected as one of the finest strikers of the ball in the game. As the Ping i15 was a gift I felt obliged to use it, had I happened upon it I would Have tested it and decided it did not fit my swing and put it back in the rack. I am glad that it is my number one driver – now i’ve just got to get my putting form back.
2010 Year of the Tiger Woods – by Jackson Kneeshaw
2010 Chinese Years of the Tiger – Come on Tiger Woods this is your year. Take up my challenge to a match play round of golf to kick start your return. My golf in Bonmont, Barcelona is hampered by strong winds and rain – not quite what I had in mind for my winter practice. The new Ping i15 driver is starting to pay dividends, however the international course here at Bonmont is unforgiving off the tee. Looking forward to better weather tomorrow.
Tiger Woods golf challenge by Jackson Kneeshaw
Dubai missed you Tiger. I have played the courses in Dubai and it is truly a wonderful experience, everything is 5star+ and glorious conditions, but did you notice the crowds or should I say ‘lack of crowds’. Tiger Woods you are my role model (only the golf part mum). I have read all your books watched all your videos and even helped you look for lost golf balls at the Open. Where are you? – surely your dad would have told you to ‘hold your chin up and get on with your job.’ Tiger, if you read this, I challenge you to a match – you choose the course I will be there. We, young golfers want you back and if I can lure you out then great. To anyone else who knows Tiger Woods please let him know I am ready, willing and able. Come on Tiger show yourself.
