Last week on tuesday I entered a u-18 open in Houghton le-spring. It was a lovely day, with some good players entering the competition. My tee off was 1 o clock in the afternoon, I hit my first tee shot with my 5-wood straight down the middle setting me up for an easy par, a steady start. I was playing solid until i made my first double bogey, however bounced back straight with a birdie. I finished my round with a round of 73(+1) with 4 birdies 2 double bogeys and 1 bogey. I later found out that I won the event, winning a lyle and scott jacket, and a possible invitation to the junior golf championships in Abu Dhabi.
I have recently received my promotional shoes from Nebuloni, there are saddle design, in all white, with the saddle in white woven leather. They are an exceptional shoe and are of the highest quality. The first day i wore them was in competition and I broke the course record with a (-5) 65.
This is the second week running I have posted a score in the sixties. OK it might not be a 62 like Rory but it was a 69 after last weeks 68 and I had a double boggy on the 18th. The signs are looking good for the start of the season. I can almost smell the leather on this stunning Boss Golf Bag. I have been promised this bag as a prize when I hit scratch. Today’s score will bring me down to 3. something. Not great but I have only been playing golf for a couple of years now since I left Middlesbrough FC’s football academy. Good news for my 15yr old brother Wilson, who has just signed for the Boro and starts his Pro career this July. But for now just spend a little time starring into the luxury of this Boss Golf Bag
I have got my eye on a Boss carry bag – my local fashion store Van-Mildert in Darlington – simply the best stuff to wear – check it out on the internet you will want loads of the kit. Anyway they have Boss stuff for golf – the carry bag is just awesome I want it, i need it, i must have it – How? any suggestions.
After a great competition last week finishing with a 68, today is Hot Hot Hot but not my golf. Hayfever season is back and i’m in meltdown with prickely heat.
I guess Boots will be getting my spare cash for the rest of the year. Wearing sunglasses helps but I can’t hit shots with them on. Perhaps someone knows if there is a technique to this as the big time players seem to achieve it.
Back to full time golf practice. My new Nebuloni shoes are on there way from Italy – My Scotty Cameron putter is on fire – the Ping i15 Driver is finally under control. I just need some decent weather to get rounds under my belt and I am confident my scores will tumble.
Tiger Woods is making an appearance soon – it will interesting watching how he copes with the media. A few lessons to be learnt there.
Anyway today is the start of a new era in my golfing career, the old plato is history and I’m jumping to the next one.
Ping i15 driver – Granted it was wind assisted but I have just crashed a 375yd drive on a par 5 leaving a 9 iron in. It has taken over a month to adjust to the club, I changed grip, hip swing and follow through to find the flight of the ball – but as I got nearer to the the perfect ball flight I could sense the distance was there. Now that I have grooved the swing the consistency is superb, accuracy better than I expected and the overall feel is one of driver satisfaction. A good friend of mine and top international amateur found the Ping i15 out-drove his trusted driver – I could tell he was taken aback by the extra 10 to 15 yards he was getting, This guy is respected as one of the finest strikers of the ball in the game. As the Ping i15 was a gift I felt obliged to use it, had I happened upon it I would Have tested it and decided it did not fit my swing and put it back in the rack. I am glad that it is my number one driver – now i’ve just got to get my putting form back.
For those of us fortunate to witness the 18 holes played by Gary Player v Arnold Palmer last week, it was amazing. Just how good were those guys in their prime? My tender years did not allow me to witness them but they are extraordinary golfers. Gary Player was and is famous for his black attire but did you notice the shoes. Yes, the shoes. I have heard many wonderful stories about shoes, i.e. I met a golfer the other day that by a stroke of good fortune found himself on the tee with the ‘Golden Bear’ himself. Absolutely in awe of the situation the amateur golfer asked for his picture to be taken with Jack Nicklaus and Jack, ever the gentleman, asked politely of the amateur to kindly return to the club house and find a clean pair of shoes. What’s the moral? standards- never ever let them slip below perfection. The round was played the pictures taken and the amateur had a story to last a lifetime. Anyway back to the shoes. Gary Player wears Nebuloni Shoes – in my opinion the finest golf shoes in the world. I wear Nebuloni Golf shoes and without exception other golfers comment on there quality and style. Remember you heard it from me Jackson Kneeshaw, Nebuloni Shoes are the best shoe on the golf course. Check them out @ www.Nebulonigolf.com
As you may, or may not know i have recently been on a months trip over to the North of Spain, near Barcelona, I went to beat the bad weather in England and get out for a months golf with my college. I will be posting a diary very soon of the trips events and what happened everyday.
The same week I challenge Tiger Woods to a golf match to get him back in the game and ‘hey presto’ he’s back. Still waiting to hear the venue but where ever it is, I am ready. The Ping i15 is finally splitting every fairway and a 375yd drive this week has convinced me it was worth the endeavor and persistence to make it work. Today I am preparing for a four day competition starting tomorrow, and struggling to stay focused after a day spent in a very distracting and beautiful Barcelona yesterday. This is definately NOT the last time I will be enjoying the sights of Barcelona. I will be back! Anyway Tiger is back and all is well in the world of golf. Is he timing this to inflict maximum damage to the Axcentua – you bet your life he is – I wonder if those moralistic sponsors private lives would stand up to similar scrutiny,’Let he who is without sin cast the first stone and all that jazz’ If the other golfers think they are playing mind games with Tiger to gain much needed advantage then I lay ‘pound to a penny’ Tiger will win those games as well. He has probably strengthened his psychology system – Malcolm Gladwell’s sensational ‘Outliers’ book explains why Tiger is a sporting phenomenon among great golfers. “There are a lot of us who can play golf Tiger – would you care to try your belief system against mine”. Until we meet on the course.
